Relaxing In Belfast

Last weekend was rather enjoyable. On Friday the 20th, I went with Nicolas to this coffee shop called Common Grounds, where Laurent and Herve and Leanne (plus a few others) were chilling. A small band called Heliopause was playing. Their lead singer had a very smooth, calming voice, which added to their acoustic guitars and a bit of xylophone to create an extremely relaxing ambience.

When the band stopped playing for the evening, we went to the Students' Union and just barely got in at midnight (which is the cutoff time) and did some dancing in one of the clubs upstairs. After a little while I joined some of the others in the Bunatee Bar downstairs to get away from all the noise and relax for a bit. I went home that night very content. =D

The next day, Saturday the 21st, we went to see Heliopause play with another band called Albrecht's Pencil in the Palm House of the Botanic Gardens. The setting was gorgeous and the music was lovely!

On Sunday I joined some friends at the recreation center (technically called the physical education center, or PEC) to play some ping pong and volleyball. We also watched the Queen's boys playing volleyball against some visiting team, which was really cool... These guys were amazing!

This is just a taste of my normal week. A bit of class, a taste of homework, dinner with friends, some craic at a pub, some sports at the PEC... Life in Belfast is treating me extremely well.
